Our coffee
Who are OHCO Coffee?
OHCO is a small-batch speciality coffee roaster in Hursley Park, near Winchester, Hampshire, founded in 2022. We roast by hand every week and serve the same beans in our café, from our Tuk Tuk and to cafés and offices across Hampshire.
How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?
We roast in small batches every week and roast to order, so your beans are dispatched within days of roasting rather than sitting in a warehouse. Whole beans keep their flavour longest; grind just before brewing if you can.
Where do your beans come from?
We buy from named, traceable producers, including the Forest Collective in Colombia, the Rung'eto co-operative in Kenya, the Dutra family's farm in Brazil, Abebe Mitiku in Guji, Ethiopia, and Fincas Mierisch in Nicaragua. Each product page tells you the farm, region, variety and process.
Do you sell decaf?
Yes. Our Mexico Mountain Water Decaf is decaffeinated using only water, with no chemical solvents. It is a medium roast: smooth and warm with a little citrus, and good with milk.
Choosing a coffee
Which coffee is best for a cafetière (French press)?
Go for a medium roast: Casa OHCO House Blend, Colombia Excelso, Fazenda Dutra or Costa Rica San Rafael. Choose the Cafetière grind, or whole bean if you grind at home.
Which coffee is best for espresso or a bean-to-cup machine?
Casa OHCO House Blend is our all-rounder for espresso. Black Condor is richer, with almond and caramel. For flat whites and lattes, Colombia Excelso and Fazenda Dutra are excellent with milk.
Which coffee is best for V60, AeroPress or filter?
Our light roasts are made for filter and best drunk black: Ethiopia Guji Hambella, Kenya Rung'eto, Nicaragua Laguna Verde and our Colombian innovation microlots such as Pink Bourbon, Ceiba Honey and Caturra Syrup.
What's the difference between your Ethiopian and Kenyan coffees?
Both are light roasts best brewed black on a V60 or AeroPress. Ethiopia Guji Hambella is a natural process coffee, fruity and floral with strawberry and tropical notes. Kenya Rung'eto is Fairtrade, brighter and crisper, with caramel sweetness and a clean finish.
Can you grind the coffee for me?
Yes. Every coffee comes as whole bean or ground for cafetière, espresso, V60 or AeroPress, in 250g or 1kg bags.
Orders, delivery and subscriptions
How much is delivery and how long does it take?
UK delivery is free on orders over £25. UK orders usually arrive in 3 to 5 working days, and international orders in 5 to 15 working days.
How does the OHCO Coffee Club subscription work?
